Are we living in an alternate world where Google doesn’t exist?
A few weeks ago, Sarah Sanders kicked off the next phase of the dustup between her office and the Board of Corrections by appointing Jamol Jones the Chairman of the Post-Prison Transfer Board, the entity that handles parole matters for the state.
Let us acknowledge but breeze past the fact Jones’ only real qualifications for such an essential role was the fact that he served as a police officer for a while. Parole is highly complex and the effectiveness of parole boards has huge impacts on recidivism rates. If Sanders actually cared about “keeping Arkansans safe” – which she doesn’t – she would have appointed someone with experience to the role. Instead, she appointed Jones.
Of course as we’ve all heard, it turns out Jones lied to superiors in 2018 about the nature of a sexual relationship he had with a minor.
What really gets us is the fact that these records are public. It takes but the work of a moment to find the story. Did she think we wouldn’t notice? All eyes have been on the corrections system for weeks now. The public rightly scrutinizes every move Sanders makes against the Board.
How did her staff not do a single moment of due diligence on this guy?
Hint: They’re as incompetent as their boss.
We’ve said, along with others across the state, it’s pretty obvious Sanders and her squad care nothing for the state and see it as a stomping stone to get back to Washington. Every move they make is intended to get Donald Trump’s attention and solicit a VP spot.
But Sanders has lost over and over again, and if there’s one thing Trump’s been consistent about, it’s the fact that he likes people who, at a minimum, can maintain the appearance of winning.
Sanders can’t even google a guy.
